Question (i need to go on clomid)

Ok so from what my dr has prescribed, i will need to go on clomid bc i have O issues.

My question is: since i willbe taking clomid CD5-9 and BD'ing 10-17 (every other day) and then i go back cd21 for blood, what is the bloodwork for?

At the point of BD, i then enter a 2ww like an "normal" time right? So after approx 2 wks i can POAS and see if im PG right?

Re: Question (i need to go on clomid)

First, I have to ask: Is your doctor going to monitor your progress on the Clomid? Bloodwork and sonos to watch your follicle growth?

Are you going to use OPKs too? Sometimes with Clomid you can get false positives - in my case, that always happened, and the only way I knew I was getting close to a surge was by sonos and bloodwork. Even on Clomid (I always took it CD3-7), I would O anywhere between CD21-23.

Your CD21 bloodwork is to check progesterone and your LH to see if you O'd.

You would enter your 2WW depending one when you do O. For example, if you O on CD16, then CD17 becomes 1DPO and you are in the 2WW.

I O'ed very late on clomid (like day 21 or 22) so you might want to ask how you will be monitored

You should actually BD until CD21 just to be safe (I used to O on CD19 - 21)
and you are going for bloodwork on CD21 to make sure there was a surge and your progesterone levels are going up.

Once you know for sure you have ovulated, yes it's a normal 2WW and you can POAS after 14 days.

If you can, you should ask your Dr. to do a sono around CD 14 or so to see if a follicle is there and how big it is. If you are going to an OB for the Clomid, he/she may not be able to do so.

Most OB/GYN's will have you take Clomid for 3 months and if you don't get any results, send you to an RE.
Also, it's a smart move to chart using your Basal Thermometer (FertilityFriend is a good site) to make sure you are O'ing and when.

Good luck!
