Re: Shopping carts.

Pre-DS I would have answered always.

Now that I have DS, I am finding that I return them less and less. Chat Icon Sometimes I just can't get it together to deal with him and return the cart.

Re: Shopping carts.

I have to say most of the time.

If I am alone or with DH, then yes - cause one of us can stay with DD.

If I am alone, and I couldn't get a spot never one of those things, then nope.

But I must say I never do and any Waldbaums. For some reason, they are the only supermarket that takes every friggin cart that they have and keep them at their front doors. Obviously this irritates me Chat Icon Chat Icon
Especially since having a kid.
Do you know how hard it is to get one of those cart cover things on with a freakin toddler!!!

Sorry for the rant - aren't you glad you asked!! Chat Icon

Oh yea - love the last option!! Chat Icon

You know, I was just thinking about this yesterday Chat Icon

I usually do, but I was thinking, if we always did then wouldn't the guy who I always see out there putting them back be out of a job??

Depends.

If I have a child with me, no - unless it's close by.

If I don't have anyone with me, yes.

I feel justified in this because I will only take a shopping cart that is loose in the parking lot, not one that is in the shopping cart thingy.

He still has to get them from the thingie back to the store, so he'll be okay.

and I always return.

Re: Shopping carts.

Yes, I do. Last week a woman was walking by as I was finishing loading up my car, so she just took the cart from me. Or sometimes the guy who brings the carts into the store will take it.

same here.

For the most part I make a conscious effort to put the shopping cart I use back.

I feel bad for the kids that get stuck walking around the parking lot collecting them so I like to make it a little easier on them.

Most of the time. I try to park next to the cart corral, but if I have both of my kids with me I don't. Too hard to keep them under control in a parking lot. If I only have one with me I do since I can just carry them if they are being difficult.

Personally I like it when carts are left all over the parking lot. It helps me hone my stunt driving skills.

Re: Shopping carts.

I always do! I think its rude when people just leave them in spots, or just out in the open so they can fly across the parking lot and ding and dent others cars. If you took something out in your home you'd put it away, so why is it ok to leave shopping carts out?

this is a huge pet peeve for me. if you can't put it back at least put it up on a grass area or on a curb so it doesn't damage someone else's car.

And as for the kids, how about put them in the cart to return it, and then walk back with them.

I don't mean this to pick on anyone who has said they can't its just how I feel about it.

Most of the time, yes. But sometimes, where I'm parked is soooo far in relation to the shopping cart headquarters and that' so not cool.
