Got a RX for clomid today
My cycles are REALLY long and irregular. Its been 61 days since last period bc i have a small cyst on right ovary. I was on Provera which basically gave me a short spotting period. So... dr gave me RX for clomid today to start with NEXT cycle and will see me while on it (day 21).
So.... what is clomid exactly for?? Should i be doing this? Can it hurt me in any way?
Please advise

You may want to start doing some homework.
If you can read past the defensiveness, etc., this thread is very informative and presents different perspectives.
where is my friend the dead horse?

Re: Got a RX for clomid today
do you still have the cyst on your ovary?
How long have you been TTC?
Are you seeing an OB/GYN or an RE?
The important thing to know about clomid is that you definitely need to be monitored while on it. I would check w/ your dr what their plan of action is for you, how often you'll be monitored, etc...
The worst part of clomid is the hot flash side effects. What dose did they start you on? 50mg?

Re: Got a RX for clomid today
Clomid is a first line fertility drug that promotes ovulation. Cycles on clomid should be monitored with blood work and sonograms to be sure that your ovaries are responding correctly. Most women on this board will recommend that you see a RE if you are going to start any fertility treatments since they are the experts. Also, irregular cycles should be investigated with blood tests on CD3 and sonogram of your ovaries to check for PCOS. HTH!
