Re: Repost: Feeling Guilty
I'm so sorry for your loss. I didn't know.
When my dad passed, it was easier. My sister and I were away at college. In fact, my mom made my sister go back to school. She was only in her 2nd month and wanted to transfer to a school closer to home.
While its hard, its part of the greiving process and your mom needs to be alone. But call her every night and make plans with her. Have your siblings also make plans with her on different days so she is busy.

Re: Repost: Feeling Guilty
I was in the same situation. My father passed from a sudden heart attack. Me and my 3 siblings slept there for 2 weeks. I remember the first week we were sitting shiva and then had to walk around the block at the end of the week. It was just awful! My younger sister has MR so Thank God my mother was never fully left but me and my brother were definitely feeling horrible for her. I have to tell you its been 2 yrs and things dont really get better but rather change. Your mom is probably in her 50's like my mom is. This shouldnt be. She also went back to work bc she thought she would go crazy. What she really needsis someone to get together with and do things with. You and your siblings will have to be her support. FM me if you need anything. Ive been there its just awful!

I felt guilty also after my Mom passed away and I had to go back to the city and leave my Dad
make plans with your Mom for dinner during the week
she is going to need you- but she also needs to be alone - and you do also- it's part of the grieving process
I am so sorry for your loss- you and Scott have been thru way too much
I agree with this!

Re: Repost: Feeling Guilty
This is the first I've heard of your loss, please accept my condolences.
The previous poster couldn't have said it better...things don't get better, they just change. Both my parents have been gone about 10 years, sometimes it feels like a lifetime ago and others it feel like yesterday.
Always remember the good times

Re: Repost: Feeling Guilty
im so sorry for your loss. i agree with what a lot of people said.. dont feel guilty. i am like you, and i would feel heartbroken leaving as well.
but i think the sooner you both return to some type of 'normal' routine, the better. definitely make dinner plans. and of course im sure she knows she can call you or stop by whenever she needs to.
