We have one in the kitchen but we don't use it.
If the power goes out all cordless phones on a home line are too. Not everyone has our cell numbers.
That's why we still have a corded phone.
Heck, dad STILL has a corded ROTARY phone in his bedroom he will not part with... it's older than most posters on this site
Same here - one in the kitchen just incase.....we never use it.

We have one in the kitchen, and a cordless in the livingroom.
But our phone service is with Cablevision, so I guess it wouldn't matter in a black out?!

I only have a corded phone.
And I only have 1 phone in my home. (DH & I both have cell phone too.)
I hate cordless phones, and I don't talk on the phone enough to need to walk around with it.
My parents have 3 corded phones & never owned a cordless.

I have a few with a cord. I find the sound much better and I always like to have a landline phone in case power goes out.

We have 2 cordless...2 with cords.
The kitchen one right near the computer has a cord so if I am on the comp, I can talk at the same time if the cordless dies. In our spare room down here, we also have one with a cord that is NEVER used. Cordless is in the living room and in our bedroom upstairs.

We have one in the kitchen. It came with the house We were going to swap it for a cordless one but due to possible blackouts, we decided to keep it.

I still have the old rotary phone that was in my parents bedroom and plan to hook it up again when I have a house. It is so much more comfortable to talk on than any cordless phone I have ever had.
We also have another one in the closet for the power outage issue.

I used to but since I have optimum phone now I don't use it anymore. I think its somewhere up in the attic.
If something that bad would happen where I would lose the main landline, and BOTH cellphones in the house then we are pretty much screwed anyways.
