i couldn't stand it, i wanted it to end sooo bad.
i've seen dozens of broadway shows and ithink i would have to rank that as my least favorite.

I've seen it with a bad cast..Joey Fatone as MArk...WHAT?
But I am so in love with it..whats to hate?
Then again I didn't like Les Mis!

I didn't like the music, the story and the set was soo boring. I need more going on in a play then that. I couldn't wait for it to be over. I hated Les Mis though too. We actaully left in the middle of that one.

The wife has wanted to go and saw this on the new today. I went out and bought tix for this weekend. Looks like I will be sitting through rent.

I truly love the play, but I think its so time specific. It really captures NYC in the mid 90s. I'm sorry to see it close, but I feel like its time is up.

A 12 year run on Broadway (more than 5,000 performances) is a pretty amazing and rare accomplishment.
Two friends of mine worked on it when it was being workshopped at New York Theatre Workshop. One of them met her future husband through it - he was in the original cast.

My two friends were part of the workshop process at NYTW and one of them started dating Toby Parker, who was in the show. They ended up getting married a few years ago - which makes her Sarah Jessica Parker's sister in law. . . which I think is terribly cool

Well I didn't live the bohemian lifestyle, but I defintiely see the romance in it, and for about a year I was completely broke chasing the show biz dream...then I realized I needed health insurance. I know a LOT of people who struggle to survive in the arts. You may say "get a real job" but without them we'd have no music, art, theatre, dance, etc etc. It takes work, perseverence, luck and time to make money in the arts. And for artists they cant be happy unless they are doing what they love. I wish I could be directing, and I was doing pretty well as a stage manager, and I had made a LOT of progress in a year, but my family situation made it impossible for me to stay there.
So long story short, I relate to the characters in that way.
