I took it to be preserved the monday after our wedding....
it's in a box with the veil at mom's house.... I won't cut it up for a christening gown... I'll have my kids wear my christening gown... I just want to keep it... just becuase

still sitting in the garment bag since 11/05. I keep putting off getting cleaned and preserved. I didn't get any stains on it, but not sure if I will ever get it done 
ditto but mine's been hanging since june 06. its hanging on the back of the door in our spare bedroom. DH begs me almost daily to bring it somewhere to get preserved and put away but i'm just soooooooo lazy!

My mom had it dry cleaned and put it in a space saver bag. I think she thinks putting it in a space saver bag is the same as preserving it 
How much does it cost to have it preserved anyway? I never looked into it

a couple hundred bucks 
frankly, I bet getting it dry cleaned and putting it in an airtight bag is probably pretty close.... the whole preservation thing seems like a scam to me... I realized when I got it back, there's no way to check to see if they did what they were supposed to do! (such as resew any loose beading)

Same here, except that mine is in my closet and it's sooooo big. But I wanted to keep it, so I got it repaired and preserved. I haven't taken it out to look at it though.
