A friend of mine is looking and doesn't have access to a car and is having great difficulty finding a place in Manhattan. She is a BIG chested girl and everything is strapless.

try the bridal atiler of mark ingrahm (I tried my monique lhullier on there - and she does make dresses that have tops that are non strapless). I also tried on a Ramona Kaveza there and that was my second choice. I have a larger chest and found both of those designers flattering.
I also went to the Bridal Salon of Manhattan (I got my shoes there.)
If your friend can get out to Manhasset (take the LIRR to Manhasset and it is less than a 5 minute taxi ride) to the Wedding Salon of Manhasset, where I got my monique lhullier gown. They are fantastic.

I hate my place (Bridal Couture of Mahasset) and would never recommend them.
I highly recommend RK Bridal too. I know a ton of people that have gotten wedding & bridesmaid dresses significantly discounted.

Kleinfeld... but I looked at Bridal Atelier, Bergdorffs, Amsale, and Reem Acra. I got a Reem, but got it at Kleinfeld.

Michelle Roth... Went there during their sample sale and got my dress more than 75% off the tag price. I believe they have 2 sample sales each year.
