I just posted elsewhere but yeah...it was less than expected this year. I do have "fall" decorations - hay and a scarecrow... I did have one little girl start crying when I gave her my candy...it could have been the witches hat I was wearing...

I said honey... You have to say Happy Halloween! And then look them over and say Wow! You guys look great! and if you're feeling brave, make individual comments about their outfits.
My husband. The amateur.
I gave the same isntructions to my DH too, but he didn't need them. We had ZERO trick or treaters & he was home ALL day. And we have decorations--a pumpkin outside & scarecrow garland in the front door.
I'm so sad, this was our 1st year with a real front door (nor in an apartment building)
We didn't even get the 3 neighbor kids that we know!
