I know Kara got Scout right after Ebony passed and it helped her heal. I know one dog cannot replace another, but I think the new dog will certainly help you both to heal.

I agree. And maybe if you take a doggie that needs a home, you will feel even better knowing her death led you to help another doggie who would not have otherwise been taken by you? Do whatever makes you feel best right now.

I'm so heartbroken for your loss, losing your pet so tragically. But I'm glad that you decided to open your home to another dog. It will def ease your grief!

I still can't believe that you posted this news. I feel so sorry for you and your husband. It was so evident that she was your little girl.
I also think it's smart to keep your heart and your home open. It's not replacing Molly but the void she left. Don't ever feel guilty about this decision. My mom always swore she'd wait to get another dog. When we had to put my 14 year old dog to sleep, my mom shocked me when she went to the pound 2 days later and came home with a dog. I never thought she'd do it. But when you lose a dog or a pet, you do see just how big of a place in your heart and home they had. This tiny ball of fur had a huge impact on you guys and you won't lose that.

Good luck with the new shorkie. My mom did the same thing too! I was very hard on her to lose her "baby" so they went and got a new dog to help else the pain. I hope all goes well and  again for Molly.
