Re: Bride sues florist
The flowers then did not match the dresses or the cake, and maybe not even the table cloths...the dresses and decor are photographed, so in turn she has to see mis-matched flowers every time she looks at her pics or her video. I think that she could get more than the $27K, b/c in reality now all the dresses, cake, tables and photos/videos are *ruined* as well. $400K sounds like it is probably the cost of the wedding.....
Sorry but I paid a tenth of that amount & would have blown a gasket if it was not what I ordered. I wonder if her contract had a "substitution clause."

The bride is an attorney so I am sure she's pulling out all the stops on this one.
She will use those flowers to say it ruined every aspect of her wedding day right down to the honeymoon I'm sure.
She was probably so stressed she couldn't even consumate her wedding, maybe her DH is suing too!!!!!!

Re: Bride sues florist
I heard this story on the radio this morning. The bride is out of her mind. Every single florist I went to while planning my wedding told me they couldn't guarantee the exact color of my flowers.
My CPs were waaaay smaller than what I expected and I was disappointed, but it most certainly didn't ruin my day. As for pictures as another poster mentioned - the only pics I have of CPs are the ones LIW brides took at my request!!!

I'm thinking I should have sued my hairstylist because I can't even look at my pictures or video without cringing, and I was fighting back tears while getting dressed, thanks to her.

At least your hairstylist showed up on your wedding day! My family (and DH) wanted me to sue her for breech of contract but she really wasn't worth the time of day to me in the end.
And to the point about photos and videos being ruined and have the constant reminder, I had that too. I cannot even look at my wedding pictures to this day. We were all so stressed out because of this irresponsible woman being a no-show, that it set everything back 2+hours and we had not enough time for pictures. Not ony did this event affect MY wedding, but because of the delay, it affected two other brides getting married at the same venue that day as well, because our delay delayed them.

Re: Bride sues florist
I'm thinking if you paid $27k for flowers, the florist has a clause somewhere about colors. Heck, I think mine did and I paid a tenth of what she did.
Sorry, but they are living plants - you can't guarantee what color they will come out!
Although I feel her pain, asking for $400k is just making herself look bad, IMO.

Re: Bride sues florist
I have to intervene here because I work with the groom and he is a good friend of mine as well. We spoke this morning. I also spoke with him through their wedding process and yes they did spend a lot of money on their flowers but if you have it and can then that should be your choice!
The article was completeley fabricated trust me when I tell you that the lawsuit filed was not for 400G.
They spent a lot on the flowers and did not get what they were supposed to. They asked for a partial refund and the florist ignored them which is why they brought a suit against them.
Believe me when I tell you they are very upset that this was actually printed in the paper and not only printed but what was said was not true. He is livid and I would be too!

it was even on MSN today- so it made nationally headlines- I would be livid as well
I hope they get some money back- maybe try to use the press to there advantage- and for the record- I agree
I am sick of people in the wedding industry taking advantage of people- I hear horror stories all the time - and it's about time someone stood up for themselves!

Re: Bride sues florist
My flowers in my chuppah, the most important part of my wedding as far as I was concerned, were the wrong color too. We spent a crap load of money on them. Not 27K but honestly, more than most might spend. I was angry as all hell with the florist.
Coincidentally, it was also a hydrangea issue. I had it written in the contract what colors were and were not to be used. Trying to rectify the situation left a serious bad taste in my mouth. It also made us lose a lot of time for pictures before the wedding leaving the children in my bridal party crying and cranky to the point where they pouted and almost refused to walk down the aisle. The florist ran out of the flowers in the color I asked for, used white instead and they thought they had one over on me by replacing them with a spraypainted alternative. They didnt.
I wrote the very expensive Cedarhurst Florist an email explaining my disappointment and SHOCKER - no response. Funny, they responded to all of my other emails BEFORE they had been paid . I did not threaten suit nor did I threaten to bad mouth. They screwed up, they knew it and they did nothing to rectify the situation. A dozen roses and/or a "We are sorry" would have been enough. My time is worth more than a frivolous law-suit.
Frankly, I dont give a rats a$$ what she paid. I would be P-Od if I contracted for carnations and got dandelions. If I had that kind of money to spend, I would have spent it. Most of us cannot fathom having that kind of money and to use it on flowers. But this couple did and she didnt get what she wanted and contracted for. She has the right to get some compensation.

My question is....did she get a sample centerpiece with the dark rust flowers? My sample centerpiece looked exactly the same as the actual ones on my wedding day.....
