Hey guys... I need your prayers.

My dad had a stroke last night.
Please pray that he will pull through.

Does anyone know someone that has had one? What is the survival / recovery rate? I know nothing about this.

I have my sons Christening this weekend, and he was really lookign forward to going. I dont know if I should cancel it or still have it.
I'm confused.

I have no experience with this but for a full and quick recovery!

I would probably do the actual Christening and reschedule the party (if you're having one)

She has amazing advice & the unfortunate experience with her dad.

As she said when someone else's dad had a stroke, the most important thing to remember is the stroke is over & at this point he is healing.

I'm sorry. I know a few people who have had strokes. Depending on the severity, he could be just fine with some rehabilitation. for a speedy recovery.

i am so sorry!! many for a quick and full recovery.

ETA: as for the christening, i would ask your dad what he would like you to do (if you can ). it can always be rescheduled if he really wants to be there - but he may tell you to have it without him and you can all celebrate later on.

if you can't ask him, i would reschedule. as far as i know there is no age limit for christenings.

I'm so sorry you're going through this! Many prayers for your father's speedy recovery. I do know a few people who have had strokes and the recovery varies greatly. Most, however, recovered wonderfully with time and rehabilitation.

I would talk to the church and the place you were having the party/catering (if you are) and see about rescheduling.

only your dr. will be able to predict his recovery rate...it is very subjective and varies...it depends on where in the brain it occured...so many things.

Your dad is in my prayers lovely.
