I actually think they are SO adorable. I wish I could wear them...unfortunately on me that bring out the areas I don't wish to bring attention to.

Re: Your thoughts on **retro** bathing suits.

I love, love, love them. But they look TERRIBLE on me. (Long torso, short legs.) I look good only in string bottoms and "bra" like tops (I like triangle tops w/ underwire, neck strings and a clasp in the back--I take bathing suits VERY seriously!) If you could pull off a retro look, GO FOR IT!! So cute!

Re: Your thoughts on **retro** bathing suits.

Nay for me, only b/c in high school, all girls catholic, we had swimming 3xs a week and that first one looked a lot like the one we had to wear. It was gross and I hated being wet every day, so it holds bad memories for me.

They're cute though.Chat Icon

Re: Your thoughts on **retro** bathing suits.

I think it depends on the person wearing them and if they can pull it off with confidence.

I like retro-ish, not totally retro, unless you pull that off look in your daily life.

I think the first one is more retro inspired-works in real life, where the 2nd one is too costumey.

I really like them but not everyone can pull it off, including myself. I think you can either end up looking very matronly or hot.

I LOVE them, but I think that very few people can pull those off. If you are one of those lucky ones GO FOR IT!!!!!!

Re: Your thoughts on **retro** bathing suits.

Yay if you can pull if off. It's actually hard to wear.

I like #1 a lot. It's super cute! #2 is hard. Almost "costumy".

Re: Your thoughts on **retro** bathing suits.

I think you have to have a certain body type to pull it off - but it can look adorable!

Re: Your thoughts on **retro** bathing suits.

The red one is adorable. The 2 piece is a borderline costume so I don't think it would work.

I do agree that not everyone can pull them off. Basically, it would have to be someone every pulled together and well groomed. If someone is looking frumpy already that suit would only drive the frump factor all the way up. If one is looking great, the suit would look look as a cute "retro inspired" piece on them...

If I could pull off that look I buy the red one. I love them. But than again, I love almost everything retro.

Re: Your thoughts on **retro** bathing suits.

I dont like those two, they look like costumes to me. However, Jcrew has some really cute retro bathingsuits in this style that look less costumey to me. I've been a strictly bikini girl since I was a teen and I've actually considered getting one of the Jcrew strapless one piece suits Chat Icon
