7-7:30am: Wake up & get ready for work
7:30: Feed Cats, grab lunch for work
7:40: Commute to work

You get ready quickly!
I also get up at 7, but I don't leave untill 8:15. I am also trying to find time to fit the gym in.

My only free time seems to be after dinner, but that's seems so late to go out to the gym.

7am-8:15- -Get up, shower, etc.
8:15-9:30--Commute
9:30-6--Work
6-7:15--Commute
7:15-8 -cook, (or talk to DH while he cooks)
8-9:00-eat
9-12-- tv, email, read, straighten, get ready for next day

Why not go to bed an hour earlier and get up an hour earlier to go to the gym? Or, go to the gym right after work and eat a little later?

You have a 3-hour block of time at the end of the day that you can shuffle around a bit if you want to fit it in. Plenty of cushion. I'm lucky if I get home 2 hours before I have to go to bed -- and that time has to fit in cooking and dinner...

This is not directed towards you personally but what kind of quality of life is this?? I could NEVER have a job in an office. I may be selfish or lazy but I could never have just 2 hours a week to myself. I work from home(I am in sales) Most fo my weeks are 2-3 days at home and teh others at appointments-I cover the 5 boroughs and the Hudson Valley and CT. I do spend a lot fo time in my car and in traffic but I am able to catch up on my phone calls etc. On the days I work from home I am up aty 8-8:30 work for a few hours. take a break to shower and clean up my house ands run errands if I have to

Kara had mentioned she gets 2 hours a night, not a week. I get about the same or less because I also volunteer at an animal shelter, and I happen to love my life. I think I have a great quality of life, what should I fill my time with? Watching TV? Everyone is different and needs different things to be happy. I wouldn't say you're selfish or lazy, I'd just say you have other things that you like to do with your time.

You are right - I do have that block of time at the end of my night.

I also feel like I get up a lot later than the rest of you ladies... I guess I need to suck it up and start going in the morning. I am sooooo NOT a morning person though. Chat Icon

I go to the gym in the morning and LOVE it. I was not really a morning person either, but it feels SO GOOD to be DONE with it. I used to go after work and I was more likely to skip because I was tired after work, going before, I feel more energetic all day.

Well, if I only had 2 hours a WEEK to myself, I'd hate it, too, but I said I get 2 hours a day... and last time I checked, I had weekends, too. Chat Icon I couldn't stand having hours upon hours in a day to just do nothing or sit and watch TV. I have a great job, many, many hobbies, and quite a bit of energy. I get my errands done, eat homecooked meals every night unless work is absolutely insane, and don't feel like I'm missing out on much. Do I have a demanding job? Yes. Do I work more hours than 9-5? Yes. And you know what? I worked really, really hard to get this job, too. There have been rough weeks, but that's life. There have also been times I could work from home, leave early, etc. without having to worry. It's the life I chose and the life I happen to love.

My quality of life is absolutely amazing, thank you. I don't believe I ever complained about it. In fact, I love my life. I have a wonderful career, a loving husband with a wonderful career that I spend tons of time with, a fantastic family, and two horses I see as much as possible. I fit in 1 to 2 workouts a day. I'm financially stable, own my own home, find time for the hobbies I enjoy, and am happy.

No one is asking you to live my life. We all have different priorities, energy levels, and goals in life... but to assume from ONE innocent comment about making time for things that are important you that my quality of life is poor is not exactly fair.

Agreed. The longer I put off working out, the longer I have to make excuses not to do it. Plus, working out in the morning boosts your metabolism and helps curb your appetite throughout the day.

ETA - The first few weeks of getting up earlier will be rough... but you will eventually adjust and get used to it!

I meant to say 2 hrs a night. I do lots of other things than watch TV though-I am not even a big TV person. It could take me 2 hours just to clean my house! My DH is a gourmet cook and makes a big mess almost every night. I read, hang with friends, shop, etc.

Liek I clearly stated in my post it was not directed at you personally. So no offense intended. I'm sure your life is very fulfilling. On the same note I'm not sure why a few people think that if you do have xtra time EVERYONE would spend it watching TVChat Icon

FYI I have a very demanding job with huge quotas and am totally self motivated. I just also like to make my own schedule and be my own boss mostly...Just sharing my feelings

up at 6:30
take 7:30 train
at work by 8:30-8:40
home by 7:15..
either make something, order in or go out

veg in front of the tube, pay bills, surf online, talk to friends and family. Bed by 11 ish.
