yelling while drinking his bottle?
Recently every once in awhile he will scream while he's eating his bottle. Does anyone know what this is? He will suck for a few seconds (without yelling), then scream while hes eating, then I take the bottle out of his mouth, then he screaming bc he wants his bottle, then I put it back in his mouth and he does the same thing.
Hes almost 7 weeks and has always been on the same formula..any ideas what this is? (i also use mylicon)

Re: yelling while drinking his bottle?
DD did this but it was because she had reflux. The doctor told us most babies actually have reflux and most will outgrow it. She also arched her back & was a really fussy eater and also had a cough (a sign of silent reflux). She is on Zantac now. She started the Zantaz at 9 weeks- so we probably did notice the signs around 2 months.

Re: yelling while drinking his bottle?
Could be gas. Mylicon did nothing for DD and she used to do the same thing.

Re: yelling while drinking his bottle?
I dont think its reflux bc he doesnt spit up and he doesn't always yell..its just started pretty much this week and its only like once or twice a day that he yells
maybe it is just gas

Maybe it is not coming out fast enough. Try going to a level 2 nipple

Re: yelling while drinking his bottle?
My DS just started doing this too a few days ago. He's only going to be 4 weeks on Monday though. When he does this I figured it was gas so I just stop feeding and burp him. He arches his back once in a while too and screams when I take the bottle away also. I was EBF for the first 2 weeks, the 3rd week was BM and FF. This past week is only formula. I hope its nothing worse than gas for him.

I was thinking reflux also. DS does the same thing as your DS and septmonkey's DD. If he has silent reflux they dont always spit up. DS is 8 weeks now and we noticed his symptoms around 4 weeks. He is on Prilosec now and doing good so far.

Agreed. Olivia has silent reflux and never spit up. As another PP said, also try changing the nipple. We had DD on level II from the start b/c it was the only way to get her to finish a bottle lol.

Same with my DD. She also arches her back when screaming.
