DS seems so uncomfortable when drinking a bottle
He drinks 4-5 oz. EVERY 2 hours still, sometimes he will go 3 hours. Sometimes he will drink the bottle at one shot, other times he get irritated and pushes the bottle out but than cries b/c he still wants more. I dont know if it is reflux or not. He does not spit up. I remember going through this with Tyler as well around this age and my ped. had me add 1/2 tsp. of cereal to his bottles when he was around 3 mo. old. Derek will be 2 months next week.
Any advice?

This is what my DS did. He wasn't vomiting but he just seemed agitated. I talked to the ped. about it and he said it was most likely reflux and to go ahead and add the cereal to his bottles. We did it, and we never had a problem again.

This is what my DS did. He wasn't vomiting but he just seemed agitated. I talked to the ped. about it and he said it was most likely reflux and to go ahead and add the cereal to his bottles. We did it, and we never had a problem again.
I did this with Tyler at 3 months but Derek is not even 2 months yet. How old was your DS when you started? I remember after adding it to Tyler's bottles (which was really not even 1/2 tsp, I may have added 1/4 tsp.) he was like a different baby. He's not throwing up but being he eats so much I think the formula is starting to irritate his stomach and esophagus.
Derek is on Similac Advance. Should I try the rice starch Similac or just add the rice cereal to his bottles?

DS was just 5 weeks old. We also changed him to Enfamil Gentlease as well. The ped said to add a tablespoon per ounce! I thought that was a lot so I just added a teaspoon for the whole bottle. The small amount made him a new baby.

DD did this when it was time to switch to the faster nipple, you may want to try that.

DD is 6 w/o and does this
shell take 3-4oz every 3-4 hours (5hrs at night)
sometimes shell take the bottle no problem, we just burp her halfway through
othertimes she fights it so we think - OK, shes not hungry. As soon as I take the bottle out she screams for it!  It COULD be reflux related - my DD does have pretty bad reflux.
Sometime though I know its gas and/or shes trying to poop.
ETA
we put 1 tsp/oz of cereal
she started this at 3 weeks!
she still has issues with reflux (gagging, coughing, vomiting) even though she gets the cereal AND zantac
im looking into a Ped GI for her

DS did the same and his ped told us to try the rice starh, but he hated it. I added a teaspoon of ceral to his bottle made the whole in the nipple alittle larger, and he is like a new baby.
