Crashing from the pregnancy board.

Did you get induced?

It seems my doctor thinks that is the best option when you're on that lovenox/heparin. He said he would go over it more as we get closer and go over the pros and cons.

I really want a natural birth with as few interventions as possible. I do not want an induction. I feel like most of the times inductions lead to a c-section. I'd rather just wait until baby is ready to come, unless there is some emergency. Of course I would do anything for my baby.

Seems that they like to induce you when you're on blood thinners so you know when to stop taking the blood thinner. So basically, I am going to be forced into having an induction or c-section?

Lovenox/heparin girls please share your experiences with past births or what your dr has explained to you. TIA

I was on lovenox my entire pregnancy. I never switched to Heparin and stopped my lovenox injection 2 days before my scheduled c/s.

I was told that since I was taking lovenox that I would have to be induced or have a c/s in my 39th week and that I was not allowed to go to my due date because of the clotting issues.

Honestly, I just wanted to do what was safe for me and DD. I have a history of pelvic disproportion in my family and had a feeling that an induction would just lead to a c/s so I just chose the c/s.

You have to do what you feel is best but all the woman I have spoken to that are on lovenox/heparin have all had either an induction or c/s.

No, I had a scheduled c-section with my twins, but that was because one was breech, not because of the lovenox.
With my last pregnancy I was trying for a VBAC and I stopped lovenox at 37 weeks and switched to heparin. I wound up with another c-section, induction is not allowed with previous c-sections.
I would have done a vaginal birth (no induction) both times if there weren't any other complications. This was even with two different doctors, and neither one had an issue with me attempting a normal delivery with lovenox.

NO..you def do not have to be induced! I was on Lovenox and then switched at 35/36 weeks to Heparin. They switch you to heparin so that you dont have to worry about that. Heparin doesnt last as long in the body and you can reverse it's effect with meds.

I delivered exactly on my due date...no reason to be induced.
