x-post Good Sam cervidil induction
I'd love to hear from anyone who has had a recent induction experience at Good Sam...I'm being induced there soon (Cervidil induction) and I'm so curious what to expect at the hospital...
will I be in a private room for the whole induction period? (my OB warned me that the induction could take a day or two). Is there a recliner or something provided for DH to sleep on? (we are going in for the induction at night). Will I be allowed to eat at all during the induction? Will people besides DH (my parents) be allowed to visit with me during the induction waiting period?
TIA to anyone who can share their experience with me!

Re: x-post Good Sam cervidil induction
After re-reading your post I noticed it said "recent", but I figured I would share anyways. I was induced 4 years ago and 5 1/2 years ago with cervidil both times. The first time I had borderline preeclampsia and swelling. went in at 8:30 pm to a private room with a regular chair for DH. At 10 pm my doc and the staff there told my Dh to go home cause "nothing" would really happen for at least 12 hours. They did not let me know that a small percentage of people go into spontaneous labor from the cervidil and that was ME, lol. If you feel comfortable and I did at the time, I encouraged Dh to go home (he got a decent night of sleep haha) So things started around 1 am, water broke at 6 am (when I frantically called my husband to get his butt in the shower and get back to the hospital) and my son was born at 11:30 am. Second time around induction took much longer and I needed pitocin and my water needed to be broken but I think my due date was off for my second and I was induced too early to be quite honest. Both times in a private room for the entire labor, nursing staff was great during and after delivery.

Re: x-post Good Sam cervidil induction
You will have a private room, DH can be with you the whole time and people can visit. I wasn't allowed to eat or drink, I was only allowed ice chips. Just so you know the chair in the room looks like a regular chair, BUT it converts to a bed for DH. We didn't know this the first night I was there, DH was so uncomfortable. The next morning we were talking to the nurse and it came up.....she felt so bad and showed us how to do it!

Re: x-post Good Sam cervidil induction
I was induced with DD in late 2007. Definitely private room and you can have visitors - but the bulk of your induction will probably be at night. My cervadil was inserted at 11pm and the nurses told DH to go home and get a good night's sleep because it would probably be his last in a while . I slept on & off the entire process, but my mom did come around 4am to hang with me. I got the epidural and the pitocin, slept through most of my active labor and woke up at 10cm. We did have to call DH to get his butt back to the hospital.
I had a GREAT experience and wish the same for you.
