x-post q's for those who delivered at Good Sam
I am having some issues with my ob deferring to my peri and am considering switching (at 32+ weeks) and delivering at Good Sam. Do they have private rooms? Is it a nice hospital? Issues? How strict are they with visiting hours for siblings? Thanks!!

I didn't delivered there but my SIL did. They really aren't too strict with visiting hours especially the day of the delivery. I showed up at 9:30 to see my newphew and it was a zoo. There was so much caos. I believe they do have private rooms, but my SIL was not in one of them. Her room was super small and she shared it with another person.

They do have private rooms, but i'm not sure if they're first come, first serve, or if you pay the big bucks for them.
The hospital was nice enough. I really didn't have any complaints except that they didn't get my pain meds to me fast enough when I woke up in agony int he middle of the night after delivering.
IMO- they aren't strict enough with their visiting hours. I had 12 firement IN THE DELIVERY ROOM- literally a half hour after I gave birth. Several of them were shocked to see blood all over the floor and my BIL almost passed out at the mess.
My roommate (once I was moved) also had her 3 young(ish) kids visiting with her until 11:30 pm my first night. They were loud and very inconsiderate.

I delivered at Good Sam both times. I shared a room both times but my roommates were great They are not strict about visiting hours but will kick you out if it is too late. The private rooms are usually used for isolation unless they are full. My sister had a private room when she had my nephew because the other rooms were full. The woman in the room next to her (private room) was freaking crazy so that's why she had a private room. Oh and the food wasn't half bad. They didn't pressure me to bf or formula and followed all instructions (no bottles no paci). I got to have me baby with me as little or much as I wanted.

I delivered my first there. I didn't have a good experience and delivered my second at Southside. HUGE difference. I will say that the nurse I had at Good Sam was very sweet and did all she could to make my stay comfortable. They were not strict with visiting hours. Try to make sure you get a room with a shower, otherwise you have to walk to the "community" shower and it's a PITA!
My roomate at Good Sam STUNK. I mean she reeked and would not shower. My nurse tried everything in her power to make the chic shower and ended up bringing in a fan to blow away the funk. If you can, get a private room. I had one at Southside and my stay was unbelievable.
