WWYD: Snowtubing at 16 months?

So, DH comes home over the weekend after seeing his brother & friend in the gym & tells me that next weekend we are all headed up to his family house in the Poconos to go Snowtubing at Camelback.

I do some research online to find there is no "age" limit, just a height requirement (33 inches) which DS makes with no problems. My issue, he is only 16 months old & it is $25 pp regaedless of age....I just don't think it is safe for him to go snowtubing at a "ski resort" especially on a weekend.

My DH thinks I am nuts & being over-protected Chat Icon so I told him to go with everyone & I will stay home with the two boys. I just can't justify travelling 2+ hours with a 16 month old & a 6 month old to sit in a house since there is NOTHING for him to do plus the house is not children friendly...

What would you ladies do???

Personally I would not feel comfortable with a 16m old going snowtubing. DS is almost 22m old and I don't think I'd even be comfortable with him going. Maybe I'm overprotective? I don't know.

At the same time, we know kids who start ski lessons at age 2. That seems fine to me.

Just so you know I think there was an article in Good Housekeeping about how snowtubing is dangerous. It mentioned because you can spin you can not lead yourself in a specific direction which can then lead to accidents.

I completely agree with the way you feel. I think 16 months is too young for snowtubing.

It would make me too nervous.
