WWYD? (Long)

So there is this recipe that DH and I used to make together, and people really loved it. It became so popular within our family and circle of friends that whenever we cooked for them, it would always be requested. We were basically one hit wonders with it because everyone loved how we made it so much and demanded it, we never had to bother making anything else for the main course.

One day, BIL's girlfriend begged for the recipe because she wanted to make it for her own family. I usually share all of my recipes, why not? But for some reason, I was a little hesitant sharing this one in particular since it was the coveted and most praised recipe we had. Anyway, being who I am and thinking what's the harm in sharing, I of course gave it to her, no problem.

A week or so afterwards, BIL starts bragging to DH and I about how much better his GF makes MY recipe over us. It was really rude in my opinion and we were shocked and neither of us really said anything. Ever since then, we kind of drifted off of that recipe, but still now, years later, if that recipe is ever made or discussed with BIL or BIL's gf, they always HAVE to point out how GF makes it better.

I can't even tell you how much this upsets me and actually angers me. (and I barely ever get angry over anything!)

WWYD? and am I wrong for getting this emotional over a recipe, lol?

I'd be pizzed.
The bi tch in me would just turn to BIL and in my most snotty voice say "yes, so I've heard numerous times" then walk away.

That must be GF's only talent if that is the only thing BIL can brag about.
