WWYD? Fever related UPDATE
DD has had 102.8-103.1 mostof the day. Tylenol is only bringing itdown to 101.7 and I gave her a whole ml this dose as per ped. She is only 4.5 mos so no motrin. The only other thing to give her is feverall suppositories. I tried 2 places today they didn't have any. Would you go find feverall and give her that or just keep doing the tylenol?
Update****
Just wanted to thank everyone for their advice. I hate fevers (even tho I know they are actually good) and putting DD to bed knowing the Tylenol wasn't really working that well made me very nervous. I finally foundthe feverall at Walgreens last night, NO ONE carries the infants one, but the pharmacist said I could cut one of the childrens ones in half. When I went to bed at 11 she didn't feel too warm. She woke at 2, her temp was 99.8, she dranks 3oz and went back to sleep. She just woke a little bit ago and her temp was 100.0. Such a relief.
Thanks again

Yes. I took her today as soon as her fever shot up. Silverstein wasn't there we saw Chen? Everything else looked fine.

Re: WWYD? Fever related
did you ask the ped if you can give Motrin?
I would take a warm washcloth and wipe her down. I'm always so scared to put them in the bath with a fever.
Ugh, I hate hate hate fevers, and hope she's better real soon.

I wouldn't do the bath-I'm scared of seizures.
I would call the ped's office and see what they say, I hope she feels better soon

Thanks The ped said no motrinand to use the feverall suppository if tylenol didn't work. Tylenol only brought it down a little. I'm worried about what will happen overnight?
Should I go out to tryto find feverall? Should I get up every 4 hrs to give her more tylenol?

i would get up and see if she feels warm. if she does id give her tylenol while she's still sleeping. just shoot it into her cheek slowly.

Re: WWYD? Fever related
based on what you said, i would get the suppositories to have them around just in case. i'd also get up to keep checking on her, but wouldnt wake her up if she's sleeping comfortably and doesnt feel super hot. sleep does wonders for them.

I would check her, if she feels really hot then I would give her the tylenol. If she doesn't feel hot then I wouldn't wake her for it.
How was she before she went to bed? I hate Tylenol for fevers, it basically does nothing.
ETA: Tyler just had coxsackie a few weeks ago and had a fever for three days. I couldn't see any of the blisters in his mouth but apparently they were on his tonsils.

Ugh! I know Tylenol stinks for fevers. I checked her temp an hour after giving her 1ml of infant tylenol (ped ok'd the dosage when I was there because she is a little chunker) it had only gone down to 101.7 she was up for about ahalf hour after that and felt a little cooler, seemed to pep up a bit, drank about 3oz and fell asleep.
I found the generic feverall, they only had childrens but pharmacist said I could cut it in half. I hope I don't have to use it, but I feel better knowing I have it.
The dr checked her ears and throat today and didn't see anything.
I will check on her through out the night.
Thank you for all your help ladies.

She always covers for Dr S when he is away in August. A lot of older girl moms like to use her for physicals, so she actually does a lot of physicals while covering him.

Re: WWYD? Fever related
Did you try CVS for Feverall? They have a generic version, that's the only place I've been able to find it. It's in a box and usually costs $7.99 (I usually scan for the price to find it because it's easily hidden).
