WWYD fever related

My 2 year old dd has had a 103.5 fever since yesterday mroning. She complained several times that her "china hurt." I was beginning to think she had a urinary tract infection and planned to take her to the ped today when he is open for normal busines hours.

Now, as of 4:30 am, my 5 yr old son has a fever too. So I am thinking virus.

Is it possible that my newly potty trained dd is just saying her "china hurts" to express the fact that she has to go to the bathroom? She is truly miserable though, laying her head on the table during dinner and falling asleep in my dh's arms.

WWYD? Assume its a fever virus and let it run its course OR take her to get her checked, just in case?

It could be that. Also if she has a very high temp, her internal heat will also make the urine warmer than usual.

Because she's 2, I would take her in. She qualifies for Tamiflu if it is the flu & if it's a UTI, you're covered. That alone would be worth the co-pay for me.

Thanks for your advise, I am going to take it. She woke at 6 am with 103.7 according to my ear thermometer.
