Wwyd: circumcision issue- not cleared in hospital
I just had DS last week. DS wasnt cleared at the hospital to be circumcised by my OB. They said they saw some webbing and wanted him to be seen by a urologist. Ob didn't even look, he just went by the recommendation.
DH wasn't there yet and I really didn't know much about this and felt maybe it was best so not to chance it not being done correctly.
DH and I looked and we didnt see this webbing.
Took him to ped today (day after we left hospital) Our pediatrician agrees he saw no issue with not doing it.
Problem is having it done at this point. Ill call my obgyn but I doubt he will do it now. We could pay or a mohel to come do it without the ceremony etc or go to urologist who will most likely not do it now and make us wait months and ds would need anesthesia.
This is so frustrating now
We would prefer him to be circumcized.

I would probably get a mohel instead of waiting until he is older (my friend had the same problem with her son and I dont recall exactly when but he had to wait until 6 months I think before they could get it done bc of anesthesia). I wouldn't want to have my baby have surgery

My DS wasn't cleared to be circumcised at the hospital either. We had to wait a month and then my OB did it in the office. They numbed him with lidocain and did it.

Personally, once I left the hospital I wouldn't  I guess it depends on how much you want it done.

I would go see the urologist. Ds has the webbing and the urologist said we should thank our ped for not allowing the ob to do it. He said had they went forward with it, it would not have come out right and would be very difflicult to fix. It was hard for me to notice the webbing until he showed me.

Mohels do it 8 days after they are born so it can be done when you leave the hospital.
Both my boys were circumcised by a mohel. Of course bc we are Jewish so had a Bris.
For the poster.... Do what you are comfortable with, but if you have the ok and both you and your husband want your DS circumsized then look into either a mohel or urologist.

Phil Sherman (emohel.com) will do it without the religious service. He was the mohel for my son and did a great job. I would see the urologist but I think it can be done. I would contact him for his thoughts.
