Well $hit.. if I am PG I am def. the last one to know also.
I am NOT PG!!!! I will not be having biological children anymore.
DH and I are about to start the adoption process. Not that expect everybody to read on the adoption board.
There is a home study that most States require. Someone comes to your house and makes a report. I have to set up a baby room AS IF, a baby could come anytime.
I just want it all "perfect".

I would just say "hey remember when I gave you the carseat and the bassinet... I didn't think I would be needing them but turns out I will have another baby, so if you still have these items I would love to have them back when you are done using them. Its no problem though if not, just figured I'd ask before buying new ones"

Silly question, but does she know that you are in a situation where you will be needing it again?
If not, maybe she will offer it back (that is what I would do if someone had given me something - actually I was in this situation and gave the stuff back) and you won't have to worry about asking for it.
Not she does not know.
The baby is just a few weeks old. I am expecting her to use it still for a while.

I am not "desperate" for it. I just did not want to spend too much $$ on it.

She was PG and you told her that you had baby gear that were unsold. That you would give it to her if she wanted them. She did want them after seeing them and took them.
I dont think i would ask for them back because you made it seem like you "gave" them to her. No backsies

I would just say something like "Hey listen, when _______ outgrows he bassinet, so you mind if I take it back? DH and I are planning to adopt and I may need it again."
Or if you dont want to tell her about the possible adoptions, just say you'd like to keep it in the family just in case.

I sold all of DS' big baby toys thinking we were finally done. But I am all set for the furniture though. The last stuff I had not sold. At least I don't have to buy it all again.
A nice mommy FM me about one that she has available. So I will see how the person I gave the bassinet to reacts to me asking. If not, then I have other mommies here who could sell me theirs or at the last resort I would buy a new one.

I appreciate everyone for their support. I do want to point out that we are VERY early in this process. We are nowhere near a baby just yet. But thank you for your kind words!
