WWYD about this?

I was told that DH and I had to get both genetic & (some other type--I forget) of testing done. I told them to check my chart for at least the genetic testing b/c we had it done years ago w/ a diff dr (same insurance though) and I know they have the results in my file. (and I know the genetic results won't be any diff than they were the first time we got them done)

I guess the nurse didn't check the chart, because she sent us for all of the tests and now I've been informed that we've already maxed out the lifetime coverage of (at least some of) those tests and are required to pay OOP for them. I'm really annoyed about this. Am I expected to pay these or do dr's offices have connections w/ the labs to try to get this reduced or negated? I specifically asked her to check before she ordered our tests and I guess she either didn't check, or didn't check well enough. I don't have extra $$ sitting around to pay a few hundred here or there for bloodwork.... I didn't even check DH's claims yet.

I would speak to you DO. It seems like if it was office era and they have it in your file then you should not be held liable.
