I work at a small firm with no human resource department. That being said , I really have noone to raise my disappointments to as they would not get "taken care" of . Rather, they would be spoken of behind my back and would most likely come back to bite me. One of my superiors, sits across from me and is on porn sights all day long. I have heard it from other employees , never believed it until I have seen it for myself - a few times. It just happened again. Im having a really bad day at work. So that was the cherry on top . Im just so disgusted. Others at the firm know. He is a 65 year old man which makes it even more gross. I need to get out of here!!

Re: WWYD
what the hell is wrong with people! I really hope this man has some sort of medically diagnosed sex addiction because what else could possibly be his excuse for doing that in the work place?!?!
anyway, is he the boss or is there a partner at the firm or someone higher up than him that you can talk to?
I would absolutely talk to someone about this and tell them that it makes you very uncomfortable. are there other women that work in the office?

We have 2 other women that work remotely. I am the only one in office. He has been with the CEO for over 20 years. There will be no repurcussions. It is disgusting. His daughter and son are within my age. Its horrible.

Re: WWYD
ew I'm grossed out for you. I'd still bring it to someone's attention that you are not comfortable with this. make that known!
I'd also probably start looking for a new job.

You could contact EEOC an ask them about filing a complaint. What he is doing is most likely considered work place sexual harassment.

Re: WWYD
Your jaded response in a work post stands out to me from the other day, and even moreso now.
This is not a normal working environment.
I'd definitely amp up the job search if walking away is not an option.

I have been looking for a new job for a while , no luck , not even a call. It stinx hoping my luck changes soon. I may look into contacting the labor dept. If I say anything to anyone Im only going to get harrassed and a difficult environment is going to be even more so difficult.

Re: WWYD
What industry?
Maybe someone on here has some connections, or would be willing to look over your resume.
And yes, I would totally be hesitant about saying anything if I were you. Even if you call the labor dept, they will know most likely figure out it's you and it can make things a lot worse.

I would not hesitate to go to the boss. I HATE to say it, but you MUST document the abuse. Get up to go to the bathroom and record him on the computer looking at porn (don't get caught.
Have your co-workers write down every time he is on porn.
Then go to the boss. If its not addressed its sexual harassment and THEY are in a lot of trouble.

I understand what you are saying and I'm not saying it would be easy to live through, but if you do file a complaint, your company is not allowed to retaliate against you - it would cause even more problems for them. You can at least call EEOC and speak to someone about the situation. They may be able to offer you some guidance

It is sexual harassment & yes you could contact the EEOC about it but you also need to make a complaint. The company/CEO isn't liable if no one has spoken up about it and they haven't been made aware of it.
I agree with getting your ducks in a row but I would also tell whatever supervisor I had that he/she needs to take care of it pronto. If I had to go to the CEO, I would. I'd phrase it carefully but I absolutely would do it.
Here's the thing - if he has made no attempt to hide it, he may be the guy that gets off on making you uncomfortable.
