WWYD?

I'm 21 weeks with DC#2 EDD 10/17.

We are Team Green.

ALL baby stuff from DS is in basement of FIL's house in Queens.

We currently live with MIL in Lake Grove.

We are actively looking for a house, and are hoping to be in a house before (if not shortly after) baby is born.

My question is this- when should I start getting/preparing baby items from FIL's? I want to have time to clean/wash stuff and determine what I have and what I need.

ETA: we have limited room @ MIL's and if we are here when baby is born, baby will be in our bedroom in bassinet.

I would start in August. That would give you approx. 2 months to figure out what you need/don't need to buy. With DC #2 I started going through things a little over a month before hand, and it was enough time, but everything was in my house.

I would start around 2-3 months before you're due. Giving yourself time to sort through everything. I would wash newborn and 0-3 months clothes first then if you have larger items like a swing or something bring that over after the baby is born because it will just take up space for now.
