I got quoted $2.49/gal by Slomin's yesterday. I want to get a service contract because it's our first year in the house and we have a toddler and I don't know what to expect from our system.
Would you lock-in if you were considering converting to gas within the next year? If I lock-in, I guess I need wait until the contract expires to convert? Since I assume you need to do it before it gets cold, could I do it a month or two early (like Aug or Sept) and not be penalized by the oil co? Sorry, I have no clue how this all works...

I would just call Slomin's and ask...they actually do oil to gas conversions (they did ours) and they can tell you about both the contract and the best time to do the conversion.
