WWYD - 3 year old - soccer? with a newborn?
Would you enroll your3 year old in a 2 month(once a week) soccer program when......
your 34 weeks pregnant - and probably delivering early....with the first baby we stayed in the house because it was swine flu season and ds was a nicu baby.
would you be concerned your kid would get sick( they are already getting pulled from daycare when the newborn is home to save money/less sickness) OR would you look at it that your kid would get some socialization that they'll be missing since they won't be in daycare.

Is it indoor or outdoor soccer? I am in almost the exact same situation, and I enrolled my 2 year old in outdoor soccer. I am also pulling her out of daycare when DC #2 arrives, so I am looking at it as a way to socialize with neighborhood kids.

yeah its outdoor soccer.
I guess it would be good for socialization since he will be out of daycare. I thought it might defeat the purpose of not getting the newborn sick but it wouldn't be good to isolate him.

Yes I would. He is 3 and not in any other program or preschool? Definitely. At that age they need to do something IMO. And, being a germaphobe myself I think soccer is probably one of the best things he can do with minimal germ exposure

I have a 3 year old and a newborn, but the 3 year old is in preschool--you can't isolate completely from illness, and i think it's only fair to allow the 3 year old to socialize a bit.

Re: WWYD - 3 year old - soccer? with a newborn?
We enrolled our 3.5 year old in soccer (outdoor program). It just started and lasts for 8 weeks. I have a 2 month old at home. I've also been sending DS1 to daycare/preschool 3 days per week during my maternity leave. I didn't want to interrupt his schedule too much and I wanted some time home alone with my newborn to bond and recover.

Thanks!
We have him in full day preschool, but are pulling him the two months to save a couple thousand since the medical deductible is more than that on the pregnancy. I will have dh home also on the first week so I'll have more chance to recover
