WWYD re: Potty training a 2.5 year old

So we are all set to try the 3-day potty training for DD who will be 2.5 in a couple of weeks. She shows some signs of being ready but not all. I thought we'd give it a try.

Everything I'm reading and after talking to family members I've read and heard multiple times that she should not wear any pants when we are home for several weeks as she is learning.

Our house has all wood floors and is on the chilly side. DH and I now think we should wait a few months until it's warmer.

She has to be potty trained when she starts school in Sept. Do you think we should try now or would it be OK to wait a few months?

We are trying now too and yes, DS is sans pants. It makes it much easier for him to get there in time.

ETA: We have him in a pull up and I ask about going every 20 minutes.

we are all wood floors and we did a whole weekend of no pants and we cleaned up a lot of puddles! it was not fun! then we tried tight leggings figuring it would "catch it" and it didnt! she sat on the potty anywhere from 5 min to an hour and 20 minChat Icon Chat Icon !!
she did both #1 and #2 on the potty a bunch of times...but it was bec she was sitting there for a while and just happened to go...

we gave up and will try in a few months again...good luck..I hope you have better luck than us!Chat Icon

I recently trained my 24 month old using the three day method. For the first three days, I'd do just panties, but after that I think it's fine to wear pants.

Definitely try it out now! I love not having my daughter in diapers!!! And I have also heard that the longer you wait, the more resistant they become.
