Would you think you're pregnant if.....UPDATED again!
I'm new to this board, but I'm on an emotional roller coaster....can you tell my your thoughts??
I had a missed period, got a BFP, confirmed at Dr.'s office with urine test. Went for maternity blood work, but they didn't do a Beta HCG test. They told me I was 5 weeks. The next week I had a little bit of dull red spotting (only one time, nothing like AF). Vaginal sono showed no signs of pregnancy, and the doctor told me to wait for AF then TTC again next month. I haven't started bleeding yet, so I requested a beta HCG test this week, and the result is over 6000! So one week I'm pregnant, one week I've M/C, now I'm not sure. We repeated the beta test today, and I'm nervous about the results tomorrow.
I know if the level goes over 10,000 then I'm good, but if it goes lower then I'm back to TTC. Is it possible they miscalculated my timing, and the sono didn't show anything because I'm not as far along as we thought? What would you think?
Update:
I'm pregnant!
The nurse called me this morning with my 2nd level of beta HCG and the number went from 6200 on Monday to 10,000 yesterday! DH and I went in for a sono this morning and they saw what they were looking for last week - a perfectly healthy 5w5d sonogram. The doctor was wrong with the initial calculation and he was DAMN wrong to tell me I M/C when he simply didn't see what he could not have seen.
So we are healthy and we feel like our wishes came true. I'll post the sono picture later for you.
Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, and concerns. I was on LIWeddings and loved it there....I will love it on LIFamilies.
ps I don't like Dr. Lee.
UPDATED AGAIN!
I'm still holding on! The HCG numbers came in today at more than 30,000! Yay!!

are you cycles longer then 28 days? do you know when you ovulated? if your cycles are longer i suppose you could have been earlier then they calculated. what did your dr think? are they going to do another sono if the beta is up more? keep us posted

Yes, I've been charting for the past six months and they vary between 31-37 days. My luteal phase seems to be between 18-19 days, which may mean the timing is off.
I don't want to get too excited, but when the nurse told me today there might be hope, I couldn't help but get excited. If the levels are higher than 6000 I'll ask for a repeat sono.
DH doesn't want to hear about it until tomorrow - too upset from last week's news about M/C.

We did the sono at what the dr. said was 6w4d - which explains why if they didn't see anything they would tell me it was M/C. If there is a two-week delay, and I was really only 4w4d, would a sac be there for us to see?
Then again, maybe I am being too hopeful. i'm trying to stay calm...

I found this online - The gestational sac first appears at about 4 weeks gestational age, and grows at a rate of about 1 mm a day through the 9th week of pregnancy.

Don't want to scare you but you may have an ectopic pregnancy. Your numbers are WAY too high to not see anything in the uterus. I recently had my tube removed and emergency surgery for an ectopic. Please get your Dr to give you an hcg test every two days, another sono just to make sure. If there is nothing there ask for methotrexate. Do you feel pain? If you are in pain at all go to the hospital. This could be life threatening. Please keep us updated.
