Would you take young children to a Yankees game?

We were offered free tix for our family. Not sure how I feel about it.

Dd1 is 2 years, 9 months and dd2 is 9 months.

Sure - we've done it a million times.
Even better if you don't have to pay for the tickets !!

i guess it depends on your children - i would think the 9mo would be easy to go since she isnt very mobile at this point. If you think your 2+ year old would sit still, go for it.
For me, it would be a nightmare...my 3+ year old may sit still for 20 minutes and would be then get bored, although i would be able to entertain her with an ipad or something. But my almost 2 year old would sit for maybe 5 minutes and be running around causing me stress - so i would personally skip it

Would you take young children to a Yankees game?

We take the kids to children's plays all the time. And they both sit mesmerized. We are also taking them to the gazillion bubble show.

A baseball game to me is diff tho. The crowds. The interest level for my older dd. And then there's the whole anxiety thing with what's going on in the world today. I know I know. Not good to live like that.

Depends on the kids. I would bring my 5 year old but not my 2 year old. She would NEVER sit still for all the time...my 5 year old probably would not either but he would give us a bit more sitting then she would Chat Icon

I can't sit through a baseball game myself and I'm 31! If you're ok walking around with them I don't see why not.

Re: Would you take young children to a Yankees game?

Nope. No way would my DD -even at 5 years old, sit through a baseball game She'd be bored out of her mind and wanting to run around. And there isn't much room for that. The seats are all so tight, she'd be trapped.
Not to mention the hassle of getting them there, no thanks.
I LOVE the Yankees, but I'd get a sitter so I can enjoy the game
What's the point of going to a game if you have to be up and walking them around because they are bored? Kind of defeats the purpose

I definitely would! Baseball games aren't quiet and you can walk around to entertain them, too. Go for it!

Yes, DD would sit through plays and children's shows and movies etc.
But a baseball game is boring even for an adult.
Nothing to hold their interest

We've brought all our kids to at least a game or two every year since they were infants. I love it because they can have fun watching the game, and then if they start to get antsy, or the sun is too hot, or they'reven hungry, you can walk around the inside for a bit. Take a break from the sun, stretch their legs, let out some energy, get some food. Then you can head back out. When they were babies, I always wore them at least in the beginning, so they felt secure and could easily go to sleep if they wanted.

We brought DD to a mets game at 9 months she slept through it . Its a fun outing and if its not costing you anything then you wont feel bad when you leave early.

If the tix were free, definitely! But I wouldn't pay regular price for the kiddos to go with us since we probably wouldn't stay the whole game.

Re: Would you take young children to a Yankees game?

My DH wanted my oldest DD to see Yankee Stadium before it was torn down in 2008, so we took her at 2 years 8 mos and she did great. She didn't last the whole game--maybe like 5 innings--but we are so happy she went. My younger DD was 12 mos at the time and she stayed home; I think that's a tough age. My son has been obsessed with baseball since the age of 3 and has sat through MANY entire games since then.

Best advice: if all else fails, keep feeding her!

The tickets are free...go!

Re: Would you take young children to a Yankees game?

I hate baseball. I find it BORING. My kids wouldnt sit for 5 minutes a clip. Id be running all around the stadium the whole darn game. Lol. BUT if you like baseball and its something your family would enjoy. I say have a nice day out. If your iffy cause of a security issue. Dont let that stop you. Chat Icon
