Would you send an announcement to a friend who just
lost their baby (in the 2nd trimester)
I hope it doesn't sound like a stupid question...but I just found out a friend lost their child...
I'm sending announcements out....I was going to send her a "thinking of you" card too
is that appropriate?

That's a tough one. I probably would not.
But I would hang on to one for her, maybe to give her later on.

As someone who lost their own son, I absloutely agree. Everybody handles things differently, but it could potentially put her in a bad place. It can really be heartbreaking for the mother because although it is a totally different child and situation, it reminds her of what she lost. It is a devastating feeling, especially so soon after the loss. I also like to tell people to keep this in mind regarding holiday cards and such, I feel it is always a good idea to feel the person out first.

Ok, I'll just send her the thinking of you card and write in there....
I'm SO glad I hadn't sent her our announcement yet! I was about to email her for her updated address  I can't imagine...so sad
