Would you let DH take your toddler DC on a plane by himself?

DH wants to take DS #1 on a short plane ride and spend 2 nights at his parents.

I have never been apart from DS overnight (except when I was in the hospital for only 2 nights), and DS has never been on a plane!

I just can't get comfortable with this...

eta: DS is 20 months.

Yes I would, although I would probably be a nervous wreck the entire time and require updates from the airport!! I would still let DH do it

I think "let" is knid of a strange word, it implies "allow" as if I pull rank over DH or something ..........

I would probably be uncomfortable with it - but DH is my son's father (19 months) so I wouldn't make an issue of it.
Can I ask why you're not going along?

I wouldn't expect DH to refuse me a trip to see my parents if he couldn't or refused to go with me .......KWIM?

Yes, I would be fine with it - and he would be fine with me taking DS alone (which I think I'm going to do in the early spring to visit some friends).

never. ever. Heck...I don't trust my husband alone with my kid for extended periods of time.

He would never want to, but yes. Though I would be a nervous wreck until the plane landed

This is something I am dreading, but I know I have to let my children live their lives. My in-laws have a summer house in Florida and I know the question will come up sometime down the road if they can take the boys without DH and I. I don't want to offend anyone, but I also know I can't live in fear.

So my answer would be yes, let him go, but I would be a nervous wreck the whole time they are on the plane together. Is there anyway you can go with them?

No, I would not. I haven't been away from DDs for a night yet. And while he is their father, I am without a doubt the primary caregiver and have the patience for them 24/7. he does not and would get frustrated. If they cry at night, he doesnt hear them. He calls me if he has to feed them and asks what they can have and what he should give them. I love my DH, but no, I wouldn't let him go away with the kids without me. (Flame away--but every parent knows their children and their situation best. This is nothing against my DH. I dont think he would even ask to take the girls away without me because he feels the same.)

Yes, I would let DH fly alone with DS.

I would rather DH go on a plane alone with DS vs drive alone long distance with DS. I'm much more afraid of distractions and car accidents.

Sure I'd miss her but that's if its a road trip or a plane trip

But she's his kid too, so if I couldn't make it and he wanted to take her, sure.

As easily if I wanted to do the same and left him behind.

My DH would never want to but YES, I would have no problem with that.

If he wanted to I would let him. I'd probably have to give him written instructions. Plus, we have been on a plane together with DD. He knows how it works.

That being said, when I have left them home alone for the day (example: if DH has the day off and I don't) he has never left the house.

I'm trying to say yes, but I don't think I can DS is impossible, I don't trust even just myself to take him on a plane. I would go too if you can
