I'd definitely be jealous.
I guess upset would depend on where he was going and why.
Is he going to visit family? I would be okay.
Or is he going to some awesome place we plan to go together some day? I'd be upset.

If I couldn't take off of work, I wouldn't mind a bit. I would prefer it to be to someplace we have already been or a place I don't really want to visit.

His company offers a 1 month sabbatical to employees who have been there for 3 years. He'd have a month off of work and I wouldn't.
His argument is would I expect to sit at home for four weeks if I were in his position.

Yes, I'd be incredibly upset and hurt. I would never be okay with that. Business travel is one thing, but vacations without me? No way.

It would depend on where he wanted to go. If it were a location that I wanted to go to with him, then I would be upset. If it were going to be a trip to visit out of state family or friends, then no.
It would also depend on whether or not it would put a dent in our budget.

I had an 8 wks sabbatical from my work last year. I never imagined leaving without DH. I did plenty of stuff locally during the day.
