Would this bother you?
Your husbands brother uses the same middle name as your child for his child.
Thank you!

the same middle name wouldn't bother me...most people don't go by their middle name. First name would be another story....

Re: Would this bother you?
So both kids have the same middle name? Or your nephew's first name is going to be your son's middle name?
Either way, I wouldn't care. - I might if the name was very 'different' that noone really used - but I still wouldn't say anything

No, honestly, thinking of all my friends, I don't know all of their middle names. First name, probably, but definitely not middle name.

No, it wouldn't bother me at all. Middle names are hardly used and even if they are, tons of people have the same middle name. Half of my female relatives have the same middle name as me (Marie).

Re: Would this bother you?
I think there would be a lot of factors. Did they use it as a first or middle name? Is it a family name? Does it honor someone in the family? How often do you really use a middle name?
I would not be thrilled if it was a unique name, but I would not make an issue of it. I would be upset if it was the same first name and I would actually say something about it to them in that case. Ie. legally or financially this will be bad for two kids to have the same name in the same family. To me that is not good.

Wouldn't bother me. But very little does.
I haven't taken out a copyright or trademark on DD's name like Beyonce wanted to, so I have to expect others will use it.

No, we had all of our kids name picked our for the longest time. My cousin had the first baby in the family and the name she picked was exactly the same as our ds that shortly followed. I didn't care because we had our hearts set on the name. Now we have two little ones in the family with the same first name!

Re: Would this bother you?
no
Given that my best friend (and a long ago ex) just named his first born daughter with the first name that matches my daughter's middle name! I thought I'd feel weird but its worked out so far. I've gotten into it and given them lots of cool websites and links since the name is pretty symbolic. its fun! Can't believe I'm saying this but I almost wonder if I should have named AJ with that name first to start with! LOL
I'm often explaining her middle name and now they get to have all the fun saying that name with its common catch phrase. Its a good time!
Besides. Middle names are often ignored but first names are more noticed. AJ and her cousin have the similar first names. I believe my sister and I independently chose names that start with an A to honor our father. So people tend to ask us how we feel about it. Both of us say "whatever.. totally different girls, different names, different lives" But as cousins they share a similar link.. which is cool cause after all they ARE family!

Re: Would this bother you?
No. My sister plans to use my DDs same middle name if she ever has a DD of her own. It was our grandmother's name. My friend named her son Anthony after her husband and its also her nephews name (born first). So both boys are Anthony and they live next door to each other.

Re: Would this bother you?
Wouldn't even think twice about it.
My friend was pregnant at the same time as both her sister in laws. They wound up all having little girls within a few weeks of one another and gave them all the same middle name. I thought it was really sweet actually
