Worry about morning sickness?

I've only just begun TTC and already get a little nervous about morning sickness. Anyone else?

I get nauseous easily so I fear that I'll get it. I commute to the city every day and can't imagine being on a long train ride feeling like that. And if I got pregnant right away (which I realize is a big IF), I'd be about a month preggers at a big family wedding--praying I won't be sick because no one would know at this point.

Anyone here had to suffer through morning sickness while trying to keep your pregnancy a secret?

Re: Worry about morning sickness?

I had morning sickness and I really couldn't hide it. It was not so much throwing up as dry heaving all the time. I know plenty of girls who have not gotten it. So maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones. I swore I wouldn't get it because my mom had none with 3 pregnancies.

I purposely waited on TTC until after my sister's wedding because of this. I was her MOH though, so I was participating and didn't want to be miserable.

Good luck!!

I pray I miss it this time around. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Worry about morning sickness?

I had morning sickness throughout my entire pregnancy with DS. I couldn't hide it, at all.

I was in college at the time, and even my math professor emailed me asking if I was, if that was the reason I had to run out of her math final lol.

They also say morning sickness is a good sign for pregnancy.. I just miscarried and didn't have morning sickness.. so I almost pray when I get pregnant again I have it..

Re: Worry about morning sickness?

Just remind yourself that not everyon gets morning sickness. I didn't get it with DS and I'm now almost 12 weeks preggo and don't have it this time either. I have had a couple of moments where I didn't feel quite right, but nothing major- and certainly no vomiting.

Re: Worry about morning sickness?

I worry about morning sickness too...especially with a bunch of people I work with hyperanalyzing and asking me if I'm pregnant every time I feel the slightest bit off ever since I got married (3 years ago). And I get nauseous easily as well. I was talking with my SIL about this and she only had it bad with one of her 3 pregnancies. With her second she had to tell them at about 8 weeks that she was preggo because she was throwing up so much (and she works in a hospital so she had to let them know she wouldn't get the patients sick).

One of my assistants had to do the same thing. She told me and our boss very early because she was so sick. Chat Icon Chat Icon I don't get it that bad.

Re: Worry about morning sickness?

I worry about this too, b/c there is no bathroom in my office... we share a common bathroom in the hallway with 2 other companies! So it's not like I could just quickly run to it if I felt sick. Hmmmm?!

Don't worry until it happens. I am 11 wks and I have not thrown up once. I felt a little nauseous around 6 weeks for 2 days, but that was it!

Re: Worry about morning sickness?

Well let's look at the silver lining of morning sickness...when I was pregnant I didn't get any morning sickness and then I m/c (obviously no morning sickness does not equal problems with the pregnancy) and before I knew something was wrong everyone said...I was happy when I had m/s because I knew things were going right...I never understood it till now. Now...when I hopefully get pg again...I hope i get m/s so it can show me that things are going ok!

Well, knock on wood, I'm not prone to stomach viruses and the only times I ever 'get sick' is when I drink too much. Chat Icon

I am this way also. I fear getting on and having to barf on the crowded train. I usually take the express, but I will have to start taking the local, so I can get off if I feel sick. It will make my ride much longer, but I think I am safer this way!
