Worried **Update**# 2

So I just went to to the doctor and had my first ultra sound, I thought I was 6w 5 days, but I am only measuring 4-5 weeks.. he only saw the yolk sac. I need to go back next week and see if there is a fetus. I dont know how I could be off a whole week. I got a positive BFP at 12dpo... I am so worried and freaking out, has this happened to anyone else?

So my I called my doc for the HCG level and the nurse said that it is in the normal range. The # was 27335

the last time I was tested was 5/1 and that was 549. So now I am going on Wed for another u/s.... please send a prayer my way..... thank you everyone

Update #2:
went for another u/s and there was still no hb and just a yolk sac. The dr basically told me that there was no hope. He thinks it is a blighted ovum. So now I need to wait to miscarry naturally or decide on a D&C. Hopefully I will back here soon...Good luck to all of you.

if you were closer to 6 weeks (and got your BFP at 9-10 days, instead of 12 like you thought), you may only see a sac..... I'm not sure how accurate measuring the sac is to determine gestational age... Many women have issues and see less than they expected at times below 7 weeks... just do your best to stay calm until the next sono

i know how you feel i thought i was 6 weeks and 2 days when i went to the doc but the sono showed just the sac and he saw a shadow and the doc told me its just too early to see.. he thinks i am only a few weeks but he did do a blood test and the hcg num came back good so i wouldnt worry

Did they draw blood for hcg and progesterone? How are you counting from your last period? hcg is the most reliable indicator at that stage. You need 1 test and another test 2 days later. The numbers should increase by at least 66%

A lot of times even though you know when you ovulate, the egg doesn't necessarily meet the sperm that day. Can take a while. So sometimes that causes a delay in the growth.

Hang in there and see what happens when you go back next week. This has happened to plenty of people on the boards before.

I hope they are too! the HCG levels are a much better indicator of what is going on than a sono at this point....

When I had my ultrasound, I was 8 weeks based on my LMP. However, the baby was only measuring 7 weeks. I was pretty sure I ovulated 5-7 days late though so I wasn't surprised by the results. Do you know when you ovulated? Maybe your cycle/ovulation date was off.

I hope everything is ok.

ETA: The technician told me that it's difficult to be completely accurate early on so they have a 4 day + or - window.

Don't worry, I think it's very possible you ovulated later in your cycle than you had originally thought and that's why you calculated differently. It's perfectly normal! Your bloodwork results will confirm everything

Same thing happened to me and when I went back the next week we saw the hb, I had just ovulated later then I thought

My doc won't do an ultrasound until at least 8 weeks bc that early its way too early to see anything and get anything definite!!! So try not to worry!!!!

Don't get worried. You could have ovulated a lot later than you thought. Are your hcg numbers rising?

Try not to worry too much...this EXACT same thing happened to me!

I thought I was 6W 3D and went and had my first sono...they saw both sacs and the fetal pole but no hb.

I went back a week later and the heart was beating away....

The doc said I must have ovulated late or miscalculated...I was off by almost a full week!!!

I spent the week not sleeping and a worried mess for nothing!!!

your HCG levels are super-good news

I bet you'll see your bean at the ultrasound... if anything was going wrong, your HCG levels wouldn't be so strong.....

When I had my miscarriage and their was nothing on the sono, my numbers at that time were around 13,000- those numbers sound fine. I think you just miscalcuated.

Your numbers are pretty much perfect. I just figured it out. I think you are OK. Try to relax!
