Re: Wooden playground

We got ours at Toys R Us. It was a PITA for DH to put together but we couldn't justify the cost of what they wanted at some of the places that specialize in these sets.

Only advice is to start looking early because we waited for the season to start before we bought ours and a lot of the sets we liked were out of stock and they didn't know when they were going to get more in.

Make sure you set aside at least a day (if not two) to assemble and the more people on hand to help, the better.

I don't have one, but a lot of my friends got theirs at Wood Kingdom.

I have always been happy with their customer service -- I have bought other things from the Farmingdale location, and had 2 birthday parties there -- and the quality of the sets seems really top notch. If I were going to get one, I'd probably go there.

Re: Wooden playground

Wood kingdoms prices start at $1000 and for that price you dont get much. I know the quality is there but we want a set with a few swings a slide, and other activities. Guess ill have to look online.

This is why I recommended Toys R Us. ;).

I think ours cost about 1/2 that. Tree house, slide, monkey bars, multiple swings and a sea saw.

I'm not sure if WK assembles though so you may be paying for the labor.

Ours managed to get through Sandy too with no damage.

Re: Wooden playground

Cool. We found a bunch of really nice sets for under $800. The reviews are always mixed which is annoying.

We ordered a Gorilla Playset (Big/Great Sky II) from these guys: Wooden Playscapes and we were impressed with the quality.

We visited Creative Playthings and a couple of other places, but Gorilla won. Chat Icon

If you have a BJs or Costco card I believe they offer a few options.

We just bought that this weekend. It looks really nice but we haven't installed it yet. Its only on sale until the 14th I believe.

My bill has had his set from Costco for about 9 years and its still going strong!

Re: Wooden playground

I just posted the other day asking about the sets at Home Depot. They start at 1k installed. Two swings, slide, treehouse and Rock wall. But I don't know anything about quality. Anyone?

Re: Wooden playground

My DH found plans online and built ours himself. We used much more durable pressure treated wood than the cheaper kits call for and we spent a fraction of the price. We got all the accessories (swings, slide, seesaw) from Home Depot.

I looked on home depots website and do not see anything about free installation. Where on their site does it say this?

Wooden playground

We got ours at Costco and installed it over two days a few yrs ago. It is still rock solid and is all cedar. I think there are installers on Craigslist if you don't want to tackle it yourself

Re: Wooden playground

Costco always seems to have the best quality and the best prices on these playgrounds - I see them every year IN store around this time and I always seem to see them online as well.

Used them for our set last year, definitely not satisfied and customer service was lacking once we had an issue. For $3k I expected better service. Wouldn't reommend. Saw a great Gorilla one in the BJ"s catalogue. Was way less, 1800, and looked great.

It's not on the website. I went to the home depot in East Meadow and they had one set up out front. They had flyers with prices of the set and I am almost positive it said installation and delivery were included.

those installers charge $450 to install that set as an FYI...one reason we didn't end up buying it.

Wooden playground

I have been told that wood kingdom will install someone's gently used swing set for like $600 and guarantee it. I plan on looking into this!
