Yup! Every once in awhile, she likes to jump out of the box and take a snooze on her own (can't say I blame her!  ), and the kittens all huddle together to keep each other warm!

gotta talk to DH, not sure if he is gonna bite, he is not much of a cat person. I am sure my dog and dd would LOVE one though. I plan to use the baby card to my full advantage "but Kevin, you KNOW how much mikayla likes cats"....

They are doing very well!!!! I spend a few hours a day just watching all of them--they are a riot! Poor Mama cat is exhausted all the time. I have to see if I can find out how much we should be feeding her...she seems ravenous ALL the time, but we also don't want to overfeed her!

Oh, trust me, I do...but that would officially make me the crazy cat lady I don't think we can afford to feed NINE CATS!
But my heart just breaks thinking about how they'll need to be adopted out in about 7 weeks

I know the feeling. We wound up keeping 3 of the 4 kittens (my cousins took the other brother) my dad found behind our shed when I was 13. We just couldn't part with them after we fed them round the clock since their mom never came back for them. We already had our momma cat and her son, whom we kept from her litter. She cared for the babies, even though they were not her own. Taught them, cleaned them, and cared for them, just couldn't nurse them b/c she was fixed by then. But yes, that brought us to 5 cats, all indoors. People thought we were crazy but we just couldn't part with them since we cared for them so much.
