Why is it...
that you see a house that looks perfect on MLSLI.com and then you get there, it's a totally different story. Those picture people at MLSLI.com are sneaky when they take pictures.

I saw a house yesterday that I wasn't a fan of on MLSLI....but in person it was perfect. 
And I also saw 3 houses that looked like cr@p in person compared to MLSLI

We didnt have any really bad experiences, except alot of pics make the rooms appear bigger than they really are.
Id always just go on appointments assuming the house was worse than the pics. You can't be too disappointed when you're not expecting too much.

I only looked for a short while but I got very good at deciphering what the house really looks like, layout etc. So many pictures are s t r e t c h e d so the rooms look bigger. I've never seen so many 12 foot bathtubs in my whole life

That happened to me also when I was looking at co-ops. We went to see one that the pictures looked good then went to see and the kitchen had NO CABINETS!!!

As someone looking for a home, I have to say that the BEST comment we received on the co-op we are selling was that it looked exactly like the pictures - which they loved. lol
I must say that the people taking the pics for the mlsli posts have some skills.

thats why we didn't go by MLS pictures when making our decsion. We narrowed it down by area, yard, rooms, baths, etc.
Besides most of the time you are going to change things anyway.

I loved the MLS post for the house we have had recent drama with - new appliances. Yeah - according to the inspection report they were listed as mid-life/older. So I guess the sentence on MLS was cut short...
New Appliances (that will be coming with us - you can take these that once upon a time were new)

They can't clean it because they moved to Florida and left their garbage there for someone else to clean. The pictures were probably taken in 1990 and now it looked like a tornado tore through there...

Apparently Excellent ++ means that the front and back lawn will be overgrown with weeds, the kitchen will be in the middle of a major renovation, and the upstairs bathroom will not have a toilet installed in it.

Yes, you saw the before pics of my house... well, that was considered excellent as well.
It's like the "large factor" as I call it. Nothing is small anymore... you go into Starbucks and a tall is a small Well, with houses excellent=gross. If you want move in condition you need to only look at diamond.
