Why do I ALWAYS do this...
When someone compliments me on something-- if I got an amazing price, I always say-- "...thanks! I got it for 20 bucks".
I can't control it-- it just comes out of my mouth. It's so not necessary, and while I am proud of my bargain-- does everyone need to know I got an amazing deal and didn't pay full price??
Is there a help group out there I can join?

and meanwhile i try very hard so it does not look like a 10 dollar dress or 5 dollar jacket etc..
i think that when we buy such a deal we are SO excited that getting the deal is worth bragging about
lets face it, its not like my husband cares that i got xyz for $5...

One time I was at this really fashionable party in NYC and BIL's ex-girlfriend was like, "I like your top" and DH goes, "she got it today off the 50% off rack"...I could have killed him! At least let me try and keep up an image

I do this also.. I was out for my sister's friends birthday the other day wearing his coral colored tunic (from Forever 21)
and this really fashionable lady with a burberry skirt on was like "I love that top, I think it's the same one I saw at saks the other day, did you get it there?:
.. of course, stupid me replies "oh really? saks? Nope.. it was $12.50 at Forever 21" LOL  
At least I LOOK like I shop at Saks

I do it, too. Or, if I bought something at a "mass retailer" like Target or Marshalls, I always have to state that, and then price. I'm probably pretty obnoxious, but then again, it'd be worse if it were the reverese (ie coutour, mucho bucks).

I do the same thing. But my mother always told me, if you got a shirt that normally costs 50 bucks and you bought it for 15 bucks, it is STILL a fifty dollar shirt. Silly I know, but true.

it's never- thanks I paid $500 for this

I did the same thing on Monday! I got a short linen blazer for only $25 at Old Navy. even the regular price was cheap ($40). its very flattering on me and I got tons of compliments at work on Monday. everyone who complimented knows what I paid

My DH does the SAME thing! Someone will compliment me on a top or shoes and DH will say "Target." Oy!
