I agree.... there's no rules...it's whoever... can be family or even a close friend. My sister will be doing mine, and he will involve my SIL, my other sister, and both Moms... but it'll be all her ideas and all. Shes like the older version of me... LOL

My parents paid for most of mine, but I did pay for some things. Plus I planned the whole damn thing since my mom and I were not even on speaking terms.  With no help from anyone else. It was not a very good time for me. and I'll always have some negative feelings because of it.

My Mom, sisters and MIL threw mine. Really I don't think there's any set rule on who is responsible...it's whoever wants to pick up the ball and run with it.
