Who received upgrades on their honeymoon?

We did! We went to Excellence in Riviera Maya. We mentioned it was our HM upon checking in, and they changed our room to an ocean view on the top floor. They also had fresh fruit & champagne waiting in the room. Best trip of my life!

We did not get any room upgrades but they did give us champagne and/or a fruit basket in every room we stayed in. We stayed in three different hotels for our HM.

we did... we had purchased a room with a full view and a balcony (only able to stand/sit upright) and we were upgraded to a luxury suite... it had SUPER full view with a balcony that accompanied two lounge chairs that reclined, TWO bathrooms, a jacuzzi, a living room with a mini-kitchen AND it even had a doorbell!!! A doorbell!!! LOL

We couldn't get room upgrades (we were already in top accommodations at each of our hotels) but one of the resorts did give us a bottle of champagne and fruit basket

All we did was say it was our honeymoon and got upgraded to an insane suite in Paris and a jr. suite in London

we received upgrades at all but 2 hotels.. the Bellagio & the Sheraton Maui.

the Bellagio did leave gifts for us though

I feel like we received a downgrade.
Disney put us in a handicapped room on the first floor. No bed frame---only a mattress on the floor. They didn't understand why we were pissed.

Little things here and there. We were upgraded to a private cottage at the resort we were at in Sonoma. We got champagne a few times and some little extras here and there.

Our room was upgraded, but it was Sandals so it seemed like everyone was on their honeymoon. I think we just lucked out! The only bad part was that when I saw how much that room normally is I realized we could never afford to book that room and I would never want to stay in a cheaper one after that! Other than that I think we got a special room service breakfast one day but that wasn't work waiting around for.

Yes, we were upgraded to a suite and received chocolate covered fruit and champagne our 1st night, and a free couples massage. Our last morning we received "breakfast in bed" for free also.

The overnight stay between the wedding and the flight they gave us Choco covered strawberries and 2 glasses of champagne. Hawaii no upgrades because we wanted a specific room (we got engaged there so we stayed in the same room) but they gave us a fruit platter and bottle of champagne. No upgrades in Tahiti or Moorea but in Bora Bora they upgraded us from a 1br overwater bungalow to a 2br overwater bungalow with its own pool on the deck and a glass part of the floor so we could see all the fish.

we were upgraded from garden view to ocean view at the marriott in maui. we tried at the airport and at our hotel in kuaui but the marriott was the only place where we were successful.

No. The hotel was totally booked.

The flight was bad. We had two seats but, the travel agent booked everything and somehow our seat were across the aisle from each other!! I was really upset and asked to have the seats changed since we just got married hours earlier. They told us once everyone was seated they would.. they never did. We had the whole bride/groom shirts and everyone around was talking to us about the wedding. No one offered to switch seats. I was annoyed. The person next to DH had the window but, was a single flyer.. totally could have switched. I would have done that for someone else.

We did. Stayed at Sandals. They upgraded up to a front ocean view room. We payed for a standard no view room. We also got concierge service included.

We did! On our cruise we were updated to a balcony room! It was so nice that now whenever we cruise we only get a room with a balcony.

We didn't. We stayed at two hotels. The first was completely booked, but we had a very nice room to begin with. The second hotel was only for two nights, and I don't think we told anyone it was our honeymoon.

I guess if you tell everyone it's your honeymoon you may see more perks, but personally I was uncomfortable announcing it out of the blue because it would have felt like we were fishing for free stuff. If it came up on its own we definitely mentioned it.

I think it depends on where you stay and the season (i.e how many other honeymooners there are), and your travel agent.

We got goodies from our agent on our Sandals honeymoon but no upgrades. When we went back a year later I was an agent by then and I spoke with the managers and got upgraded to a room I really wanted but was sold out


Upgrades are also more based on availability. they'll sell more base rooms and then upgrade people randomly. At Disneyland we were just upgraded to a Theme Park view for no reason. We weren't celebrating anything, we just got lucky.
