Who has multiples in their family?

My family is so full of twins it is crazy. Both my parent's are twins, aunts are twins, uncles are twins... DH and I are pretty sure we have a good shot of having twins the first time out. Any one else???

Holy cow that's alot of twins!!!

On my mom's side...my grandmother had twin uncles, my aunt (my mom's sister) had twins.

On my dad's side, my dad's cousin had twins.

All were natural. I am sure there are more I may not know about. From what I understand, don't twins skip a generation?

My Great-Grandmother had 3 sets of twins. They haven't shown up in my family recently though, weird.

Re: Who has multiples in their family?

My aunt was pregnant with twins, but lost them halfway through her pregnancy. Not sure if that counts.

On a side note, I was told by two different psychics that I would have twins.Chat Icon

Yes naturally! They were later in life pregnancies.

Twins has to run on the mothers side to be passed on. So anything on your DH's side wouldn't increase your chances. And this is for fraternal twins.
Identical twins are not inherited it is a "freak of nature" when the egg splits.
Or that is what my doc said.

Three sets of twins that is amazing!

Its actually more common for an older woman to have multiples naturally than a younger woman.

Oh and to address the OP, there are about 4-5 sets of twins on my mother's side of the family.
