Which obgyn appointments did DH go with you?

I think my DH will probably come to the 20 week Level II but that's about it.

Just curious about the other ladies.

DD went to all of them with my dd except at the very very end .. he missed a couple b/c I was going more often and his work hours and docs hours didnt really work out all the time.

so far this preg. hes made all of them, but its getting hard b/c now dh works later and now we have a 11month old.. who also comes and this late appointments throw her off track for bed.

DH is coming with me to a sonogram appt. next week.

That's only because its a sonogram, with pictures. I really don't need him to come for the other appointments to just have to wait in the waiting room.

If there's no sonogram, there is no point in him coming. All sonograms, he will come.

My Dh has gone to all of them so far. He likes to feel as involved as possible. Also, my midwife group recomends both parents to be come. My appointments are like 1.5 hours long. We do a lot of taliking about the pregnancy and at each appointment they have a new topic for us to think about and discuss........ Breast feeding, discipline, keeping our marriage healthy while going through pregnancy and bringing up a shild etc.

Its a learning experience as well!!

so far, I've had 2 plus my ultrascreen at a different facility. He's been to all of them. Going forward, he's only going to come with me to my Level II. I also have to have a couple of extra sono's in my 3rd trimester, so he will come with me to those as well.

just the sono appts.....he couldnt come to all of them bc he had to work and i had them all in the morning

all of them! and the last one he surprised me at. it was a last minute appointment around 22 weeks because I hadn't felt the baby move in 2 days and was really paranoid. I gave him about an hour's notice and told him he didn't need to go, but while I was sitting in the waiting room, he showed up with a flower for me

all of them.... (my OB office is very close to both of our jobs.....)

My DH comes to all of them. This way it's two sets of ears to recall whatever is discussed.

Not that many of them I'm afraid. He's been travelling for a bunch of them. He went to the ultrascreen and my amnio which was a very stressful time for us. He didn't make the Level II that was the only one I was disappointed about.

All the big ones. First appointment after the RE, ultrascreen, Amnio, level 2 and most of the 3rd trimester appointments.

All of them but the first one. My mom came with me for that one.

All of them, then again I get a sono at every appt....maybe if I knew ahead of time that I wasn't having one and was just peeing in a cup and getting my blood pressure taken, I'd let him skip it.

He has come to all of them so far -- minus the ones that are just blood draws

Only the biggie one are sonos. The weight check and pee in a cup ones that take 5 minutes I don't drag him to

He went to two of my sonos: the one where we saw the heartbeat for the first time and the ultrascreen. He also took me to the doctor when I had a bleeding scare, but he stayed in the waiting room.

I had a full anatomy scan at 16.5 weeks instead of a Level II. We weren't finding out the sex and DH was really busy at work so I told him he didn't have to come. I may ask him to come to my final sono, which I think is around 32 or 33 weeks.

So far he went to my 8 week sono and my 11week 5 day sono. I think the next one he will come to will be my 20 week.

He came to the first appt with the midwife just for them to say YES-you are pregnant...

Then he came to the 2nd appt when I had my sonogram

My mom went with me to the ultrascreen appt- which turned out to be good since I never wound up getting the tests done, just met with the genetic counselor

and he will be coming with me to the 20 week-level II appt...

He did not come with me to the last regular appt with the doctor and really there was no point- he works far from the doctor, I waited in the room for 30 mintues for her to come for about 15...nothing major happened, so those appts I am fine if he misses...

All but two

8 weeks - My first appt cause I knew there was a pap and didnt want him there. And frankly what if they said "no baby" .. i didnt want him around for that either.. so it was pretty lay back "Im gonna see the doc, I'll update you later" told him later about the little creature within that looked like a small alien with a freaky little heartbeat and waving its 'arm' posts..


36w (last week)- He had been to my 34w & 35w , but I told him not bother coming to the 36w. I didnt realized they would check AGAIN about the breech, but i did know i wanted him home for THIS thursday since he's picking up my Dad from the airport so it was more of a scheduling need.

Otherwise he goes to them all because mostly he had to pick me up from the LIRR so it made sense he came along and now he still drives me to work so it makes sense again. Though last thurs and this thurs Im staying home with my own car.

I love that he comes to these stupid final visits were its just weigh, Pee, blood pressure, measure, talk and leave

#1 he remembers what questions to ask
#2 he holds my purse while i get weighed.
#3 he keeps me entertained both in the lobby and in the room while we wait for doc
#4 we get to eat out together afterwards.

He came to the first appt where they confirmed the pregnancy. Then he came to the 12w sono & the level II/Anatomy Scan Sono at 20w. My Doc's office is right around the corner from my job so I go during my lunch break (1pm) on fridays. It is a 15-20 min drive from my DH's job so he has only come for the sonograms so far.

The next one he will go to is the growth sono at 32 weeks & then he will probably come to all of the ones at the end because I know he will want to be there for all of the updates as we get closer to the end.
