I was there on my honeymoon... BUT if we were going to go back we wouldn't stay there again, we would go to the Four Seasons Bora Bora... my husband, who did all the research/planning for our honeymoon, feels in hindsight that the Four Seasons would be better for the money.

In my former life before being a SAHM I worked at a very exclusive travel and concierge agency. Let me know what area you are thinking of and I can tell you the best hotel in that area.

Nicest hotel room I've ever been in has been at the Wynn in Vegas, but I totally didn't fit in. LOL

Not taking the view/location into consideration, just the actual hotel, then it would be the Ritz Carlton in Battery Park. It's tough to beat their suites & club lounges and I always love their staff.

It's not fancy but we also loved the Beacon Hotel in NYC, there was something really charming about it. Also it's next door to the Beacon Theater which is great if you're seeing a show (which we did.)
I second the Palmer House. Beautiful hotel!
The lobby was amazing! We also somehow had an extra-large room with two bathrooms. As far as my kid is concerned, nothing will ever top that.  It was also not as pricey as you'd expect and in a great location.

We also stayed at the Bellagio in Vegas on our HM and it was FAB. We were upgraded to a giant suite center on the fountains bc we were honeymooners.
The Marriott Ihilani was also GORGEOUS, with a full wrap around lanai.

The Night Hotel in NYC is still my favorite. Only for couples though. Sexiest hotel EVER! They have a copy of the Kama Sutra in every nightstand

I Highly recommend it. The rooms are tiny bc its a boutique hotel, but well, you don't need a lot of room anyway ;)
