Which cell phone provider is better?

We've had AT&T for years, but might want to change. Not the greatest service IMO, and the price isn't exactly affordable anymore. At least from what we have? We are going through my moms account though?

Can you recommend a provider and cost? We need something cheap with good service. Does that even exist? My DH's work is taking their company phones away and having the employees get their own plans and then will be reimbursed on a monthly basis? Doesn't make sense, but whatever. He'll need a data plan too which we don't have with our current phones since I don't need it and he always had his work phone that had it.

I was thinking it might be cheaper if he got his phone through X provider and then he can use that as his personal phone too if the minutes are unlimited or close to it, and then just add me to the plan?

How is Verizon or another one? I'm also in NC so I think the service is definitely different here.

Any thoughts? It's been a VERY long time since we shopped for phones. Thanks!

I am assuming from the information you provided that you are looking to get 2 phones. If you are looking to share minutes, here is what you would get with Sprint...

Share 1500 anytime minutes.
Unlimited calling after 7pm
Unlimited calling to any wireless phone in the US, regardless of what carrier you are calling.
Unlimited text, picture and video messaging
Unlimited data (email, GPS navigation, TV, Radio)

This would cost anywhere between $129.99-$149.99/month depending on what phones you got.

Also, depending on what company your DH works for, he might qualify for a discount off the monthly charges.

There are other plans, but this is the most popular one that gives you everything.

switch to Tmobile for one of their cheaper family plans before the AT&T acquisition is complete... this way you get grandfathered into AT&T on a cheaper plan...

my coworker has sprint and her coverage is excellent and the prices low. Of course, you cant go wrong with Verizon's coverage but its $$$

have you looked into boost mobile or metro pcs. The one's you pay for the phone but the plan is only $40-$60 per month with everything unlimited.

Or sprint now has the everything deal going on.

We currenlty have verizon but are paying sooo much for the data plan and everything. coverage is excellent. but once our contract is up we will be looking into one of the prepaid ones since they give you sooo much more for sooo much less.

I had verizon for years and was generally pleased, but DH had Sprint and was getting a better deal. When we decided to get a family plan we went with Sprint and we couldn't be happier. DH has had his SPrint plan for 11 years now, we've done the family plan for 3.
I don't miss verizon.

We have the sprint family everything plan and we never had a problem.
