Where to go to get tires...

I need tires on my Escape BAD. I am also up for inspection so I am hoping to go out and get some tires put on my car today.

Where should I go? I was thinking Sears. Are they able to do it while you wait?

There is a mavis in Levittown right near Singleton's near my house...

And also this discount tire place...used to be across from Tri-County and they moved to where Mini-Van-Man used to be...

I was thinking of going there to see if they had good prices...but I kinda trust Sears...you know?

I know that about a year ago I had a nail in one of my tires -- thought it went through and needed to get a new tire and a lot of people were telling me at least $160 for an SUV tire when I was calling arond ----but Sears had an add and some were around $90/tire.

Re: Where to go to get tires...

I get my tires at Costco. I have found they are cheapest there, but the last time I went, they would only sell the tires I needed if I replaced all 4, which I didn't need. I ended up going to Mavis.

We got ours at House of Tires in Levittown (I think that's the place you're talking about by Tri-County). DH waited for the car and it was less than an hour.

ETA: They weren't the cheapest, but Costco and BJs didn't have the tires we wanted.

I've gone to Mavis and Costco. Both reasonable and had good experiences at both places.

Mavis got me and dh BIG time. One tire was flat and they charged us for 4. Then the next day it was flat (new one) and they told us it has no warranty so dh gave them another 1000 for 4 more tires...and guess what ...I still hear noises! I complained and told them I am 9 months preggo and they didnt return my calls.
Costco by far is the best. DH got us into this mess bc hes a man and doesnt want to listen.

Costco or BJ's are the best.

I got Yokohamas (sp?) a few times and I swear they lasted better than any other brands.

They didn't carry the tires for my previous car and I went to Mavis by Singleton's

Re: Where to go to get tires...

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

My mom kept telling me that I should go to Sears so that's what I ended up doing.

SUV tires are too damn expensive!

I ended up getting a cheapo brand I've never heard about because I just couldn't afford something more expensive. My lease is up last month but I'll probably keep the car since I'm over miles---but just in case they offer me a great deal I didn't want to spend TOO much on tires either.

They were $86/piece (Super Sport --- most of the other ones were at least $120-140/tire) and with balance/alignment it came out to $574!!!!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Where to go to get tires...

Costco has a promotion going on right now too I think it is $60 off a set of 4 michelin's. The promo ends nov 3rd though.

I need new tires myself just waiting to hit the lotto before I get them.

If you have a Costco membership, their tires are cheap.
